Torah Class - Day 31: Commandment 4: Passover (Part 6)

Today, we concluded our study of Passover. We went through the Seder emblems and discussed the meaning of each. The completed worksheet for Week 13 is now available in the worksheets for this class at:

Here are the video presentations/series which address some of the deepest issues and questions regarding Torah:

Issues from Eden Video Series:
  • Key point: the Torah has Eras (how it existed before sin in Eden, how it was after the Fall with added layers provided for dealing with sin, how it was to be kept after Christ died on the Cross, and the ultimate restoration to sinlessness in the future). We are being restored to sinlessness and to the the Eden Torah:
Righteous Branch Series:
  • Key point: Messiah is the BRANCH (there are 5 Branch Prophecies in the Old Testament. The true Messiah would be known/identified because He would fully fulfill all five of these Branch Prophecies). The Spirit of Antichrist denies that Yahshua is the Christ, by attacking His fulfillment of these Branch prophecies, one of which is about His work in fulfilling the animal sacrifices:

Torah Class - Day 29: Commandment 4: Passover (Part 4)

Today, we continued our study of Passover. We discussed that the Passover Lamb offering was not just a sacrifice, it was the quintessential sacrifice which Messiah most fully identified with in His Death.

A number of very excellent questions arose during our class study/discussion time, which require an in-depth response. So, as promised, here are the video presentations/series which address these questions:

Issues from Eden Video Series:
  • Key point: the Torah has Eras (how it existed before sin in Eden, how it was after the Fall with added layers provided for dealing with sin, how it was to be kept after Christ died on the Cross, and the ultimate restoration to sinlessness in the future). Torah Class - Day 28: Commandment 4: Passover (Part 3)

Today, we continued our study of Passover. We found that the Passover Seder Meal is eaten starting prior to sunset on Abib 14 (Passover) and carries into the eve of Abib 15 (first Day of Unleavened Bread)...  This is why Unleavened Bread is eaten at the Seder (since we are only commanded to eat unleavened bread for seven days).

We also saw that the Passover-Seder-Egypt story is a powerful proof that the day begins at sunset, not in the morning, as many believers have come to think. This is because the Statutes plainly state that the Children of Israel killed the Passover (lamb) on Abib 14 and ate the meal (including the lamb) that night. Then they actually left Egypt on Abib 15, at night.

So, after eating the Seder on the eve of Abib 15 (the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread), when it was dark, the Children of Israel began their Exodus journey. Clearly, Abib 15 began before sunrise.

Torah Class - Day 27: Commandment 4: Passover (Part 2)

Today, we continued our study of Passover. We found that Yahweh commands His people to keep the Passover.  If we do not, Scripture tells us that we will be "cut off". For those who cannot keep the Passover on the 14th of Abib,  there is a Scriptural provision for keeping a second Passover/Unleavened Bread in the Second Month (14th day). There are two reasons to keep a Second Passover:

1) a death in the family
2) being on a trip (in which a shipwreck, or disaster strikes, preventing the keeping of Passover).

Torah Class - Day 26: Commandment 4: Passover (Part 1)

Today, we continued our study of Passover. We found that Passover is a word which means three things, in Scripture:

1) It is the name of the day - Abib 14
2) It is the name of the Seder Meal, which takes place on Abib 14, in the evening.
3) It is the name of the lamb, which was sacrificed on the 14th day of Abib.

Only the sacrificial lamb is ended. We are not to sacrifice the lamb, as it pointed to Yahshua's Death. Also, eating the Passover lamb, at the Passover Seder was not merely a menu item. It was a sacrifice, according to Exodus 12. Thus, we are no longer to eat the Passover lamb, at the Seder Meal, but we are still to keep the meal and the day of Passover.
