Torah Class - Day 1 - Introduction & First Commandment

In our first class today, we went over the basics of what's available on this blog. As we mentioned, this blog is the hub of class communication for this course. It's the gateway to the recorded videos, the worksheets, and the live Zoom link to join class live. Also, on this blog, you'll be able to post comments and questions. And each class, a summary blog posting will be posted. So...  please bookmark this blog so that you can visit here every Monday and Wednesday during the course!

Not sure how to bookmark a webpage? Here's a quick tutorial video:

Enhancing the Study:
Today, we started our study of the key words found in the First Commandment (Exodus 20:1-3). Here are a couple of video links to set the stage for the Book of Exodus and the Ten Commandments:

Before Wednesday's Class:
Before Wednesday, September 6, please print and complete your Torah Plan worksheet. I'll be asking folks to share their main course goal in class on Wednesday. Post the completed sheet so you can see your plan as an encouragement to you in your time in this course.

Course Fee for September:
I am so excited to have each of you joining me in this blessed immersion into Torah! None of us will be the same (in a good way)!

At the start of each month, I will post a reminder for you to send in the payment for this month. If you have already sent in the amount for September, please disregard this reminder, and thank you so much!

How much is due for September? See the following list, and choose your correct amount to send:

$100.00 - Torah Course Fee is $12.50 per class. There are 8 classes in September... This amount covers the entire household. So, for a household where more than one person is participating in Torah Class, the fee is still $100.00.

$150.00 - Torah Course Fee and Prophecy Club. If you are enrolled in both classes, I am offering a discount. Instead of $100.00 per class, totaling $200.00 per month/household, I am asking $150.00 per household for September.

You may send in the course fee online by using the Lighted Way Ministries donation page. Go to:

How to Make Your Torah Binder:
  • Get a 3 in binder (all the worksheets for this course will only fit in a 3 in...). If you are also in the Prophecy Course, you'll want a 3" binder for that class also, so here's a link to get a 2-pack
  • Get clear, plastic sheet protectors (recommended protection for your completed worksheets, as you'll want to be able to use/keep your Torah binder, without damaging, tearing or losing the completed worksheets.) I recommend getting the pack of 500.
  • Get binder dividers (preferably with pockets). You'll need a total of 10 binder dividers (1 for each section of the 10 Commandments, and related Statutes). I recommend getting 2 sets of 5-Tab binder dividers with pockets.
