Thoughts and Commentary on Today's Reading

In John 19, we read of the trial and death of Yahshua. There is no more powerful sermon or story. This is the defining moment of the whole human race - unequivocally portraying the love and character of God for all time.

How deep does the Blood reach, which He shed for you and me? Deeper than the lowest depths of hell - for no soul who will repent is beyond its cleansing reach.

How far does the Cross go? It spans all time and space forevermore.

How high does the reality of Calvary reach with its testament of the Love of God? Even to the stars!...  As Louie Giglio powerfully explains in this video: How Great is God?

Thoughts and Commentary on Today's Reading

After the epic intensity of Psalm 83, Psalm 84 is a refreshing call to praise and a deeper commitment. Psalm 84:10 gives a beautiful perspective for why we should choose to love and serve Yahweh, even if it costs us everything. Yahshua truly is the Pearl of great price, Who is of such great value that losing everything of this world is a small price to pay in exchange for the blessing of gaining a real relationship with Him.

As Moses once determined, it is even better to suffer affliction as a friend of God than it is to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season (Hebrews 11:24-25).
Psalm 84:10 "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."
