Thoughts and Commentary on Today's Reading

The powerful promises of God's overshadowing Protection, from Psalm 91, continue into Psalm 92. Consider the following promises:
Psalm 92:8-15  "But Thou, Yahweh, art most High for evermore. For, lo, thine enemies, O Yahweh, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.  But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the House of Yahweh shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;  To show that Yahweh is upright: He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him."
Today, I am going to share with you some further promises for Yahweh's guidance, protection, and preservation in your life. We fear the future, our situation, our circumstances, difficult people in our lives, and other such things because we do not perceive Who Yahweh really is and what He has promised.

Unbeknownst to us, we fear what we worship and we worship what we fear. This is why fearing anything or anyone other than Yahweh is the deepest form of idolatry. Yet, 365 times in Scripture (one for every day of the year) God has told us not to fear.

Let us dispel all fear by looking at Yahweh and remembering what He has promised:
Yahweh shall preserve me from all evil. He shall preserve my soul. Yahweh shall preserve my going out and my coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

There is a Path (the Path of Life) which no fowl (birds which eat carrion) knoweth, and which no vulture's eye hath seen. The lion's whelps have not trodden it... Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
(Psalm 121:7-8; Job 28:7-8, 21)
Yahweh is my Light and my Salvation. Whom shall I fear?
Yahweh is the strength of my life!
Of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell.
Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear!
Though war should rise against me,
In this will I be confident!
One thing I have desired of Yahweh,
That will I seek after:
That I may dwell in the House of Yahweh
all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of Yahweh,
And to inquire in His Temple.
In the time of trouble,
He shall hide me in His Pavilion;
In the secret place of His Tabernacle,
He shall hide me.
He shall set me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me.
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His Tabernacle.
I will sing! Yes, I will sing praises to Yahweh!
(Psalm 27:1-6)

...I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.

Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since My Name is in him. If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you.

My angel will go ahead of you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites, and I will wipe them out.

Do not bow down before their gods or worship them or follow their practices. You must demolish them and break their sacred stones to pieces.

Worship Yahweh your god, and His blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. I will send My terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all you enemies turn their backs and run.
(Exodus 23:20-27)
