Torah Class - Day 20: Commandment 4 - How to Make the Biblical Calendar

Today, we continued our study of the 4th Commandment. We are now looking at how to make the Biblical Calendar. During the next two weeks, when we won't be meeting online on Zoom, those who are in this class are being invited to use the information given and create a Biblical calendar for 2024.

The worksheets needed were e-mailed to the class, let me know if you don't have them.

Here is what you need to make a correct Biblical calendar:

1) the calendar worksheets provided in the class

2) the End of the Biblical year is the spring Tekufah, Vernal Equinox (northern hemisphere), which is March 20, 2024. Start by marking this date on your calendar.

3) mark all the new moon eves (night of the sighting of the first visible sliver of the new moon) on your calendar. These dates are provided in your class worksheet.

4) mark all the new moon days (which are the day after the new moon eve) on your calendar. These dates are also provided in your class worksheet.

5) the first new moon day following the spring Tekufah (March 20) is the first day of the new Biblical Year. This day is Abib - day 1.

6) Use Leviticus 23 to help you calculate and count to determine when each annual feast day is, from that point. All the annual feasts are determined by using the moons and counting...  So you will have everything you need to do a 2024 calendar in the worksheet and in Leviticus 23.

We'll do the calendar together -with full explanation in two weeks. So, you'll be able to see if you got it right, and where corrections (if any) should be made. Happy calendating!

Torah Class - Day 19: Commandment 4 - Why the Weekly Sabbath Isn't Determined by the Moon... (conclusion)

Today, we continued our study of the 4th Commandment. In studying the 4th Commandment, and we need to address several key points on this important - and highly attacked topic.

We have now concluded our study of the Fourth Commandment. So you can now view-print the completed worksheets for Statutes 203-208 and Commandment 4.

Here's a brief summery of why the lunar Sabbath teaching doesn't pass the test of Scripture:

1) Lunar Sabbath fails the “Bone Structure” Test. The first Sabbath was 3 days after the moon was created (since the moon was created on the 4th day of the Creation Week). Clearly the first Seventh-day Sabbath on earth was not determined by the moon. (For more information on “Bone Structure” as a vital part of effective Bible study, see the Lighted Way Ministries, Study Guide #1, readable online at https://www.lightedway.org/html/Doctrine_Studies/Lesson_1.pdf)

2) Lunar Sabbath teachings cite massive calendar changes... which are invalid... Christ kept the same day Sabbath that the Jews kept, demonstrating that Saturday was the Sabbath. As it says in Hebrews, had there been another day of rest, He would have said so (Heaven only keeps Heaven's Days). So all calendar changes prior to Christ are invalid to proving Sabbath-changes (for they did not affect Sabbath).

3) Lunar Sabbath is not consistently 7 days... If Sabbaths are governed by the moon phases, Sabbath is no longer consistently the Seventh-day Sabbath. At the end of each lunar cycle, there is a 9-10 day period from one lunar phase to the next. This means that the last week of the month, if Lunisolar Sabbath is true, is not seven days - thus it is not consistently the Seventh-day Sabbath, if Sabbath were determined by the moon phases.

4) Lunar Sabbath days are not consistently the Sabbath, in the Bible Record... There are any provable cases in Scripture where the weekly Sabbath DIDN’T fall on the 8th, 15th, 22nd or 29thEven one provable case disproves the Lunisolar theory. There are two!

5) We will to look at the history of keeping the Sabbath to see whether it was done by the moon phases or by a continuous count.

6) We will examine the Seventh-day Sabbath to determine whether there is enough evidence to show that “Saturday” is indeed still the 7th Day.

7) The Pentecost count includes seven Sabbaths AND fifty days. The Pentecost count doesn't work with the weekly Sabbath being determined by the moon phases...  This is because there is a 9-10 day period at the end of each lunar cycle...  And even one 9-day "week" following 4 weeks, throws off the Pentecost count, making it impossible.

Next, we will study how to make a Biblical calendar (determining the timing of the Feast Days) - as the Feasts are a subcategory under the Sabbath Commandment.

Torah Class - Day 18: Commandment 4 - Why the Weekly Sabbath Isn't Determined by the Moon...

Today, we continued our study of the 4th Commandment. In studying the 4th Commandment, and we need to address several key points on this important - and highly attacked topic.

NOTE: there is no completed worksheet from this week, as we aren't finished yet...

Currently, we are thoroughly covering the issue of the lunar Sabbath teaching. Understanding and being able to give a reason of what we have found in Scripture is vital...  So, we will continue using this same set of worksheets in Monday's class...

We will explain/investigate the calendar change issues with a guiding point: Christ kept the same day Sabbath that the Jews kept, demonstrating that Saturday was the Sabbath.

There are any provable cases in Scripture where the weekly Sabbath DIDN’T fall on the 8th, 15th, 22nd or 29th. Even one provable case disproves the Lunisolar theory. There are two!

5) We will to look at the history of keeping the Sabbath to see whether it was done by the moon phases or by a continuous count.

6) We will examine the Seventh-day Sabbath to determine whether there is enough evidence to show that “Saturday” is indeed still the 7th Day.

We will also plan to study how to make a Biblical calendar (determining the timing of the Feast Days) - as the Feasts are a subcategory under the Sabbath Commandment.

Torah Class - Day 17: Commandment 3 - conclusion (of commandment 3)

Today, we completed our study of the last of the Statutes relating to the 3rd Commandment. We are now beginning our study of the 4th Commandment.

You will notice we are not covering very many Statutes in this week's worksheet...  That's because we'll be studying the 4th Commandment, and we need to address several key points on this important - and highly attacked (by the enemy) - topic.

So, we're going to be thorough, covering issues like lunar Sabbath... Is Saturday still the Sabbath? How can we know the Sabbath with all the calendar changes...  and several other hot-potato points which are bringing in tremendous confusion to Sabbath keepers.

Torah Class - Day 16: Commandment 3 - Statutes 178-202

Today, we completed Statutes 178-202. This and the completed worksheets and all of our previous Torah Class worksheets are viewable/printable from the Torah Class Binder Worksheets webpage.

COMMENTS FROM THE CLASS:

The following comments were messaged to me (for posting) in this class, by Belinda (thank you for sharing, Belinda!):

This commandment to not revile a god reminds me of the book of Jude where we are warned about speaking presumptuously or commanding certain evil spirits, but rather to say YHWH rebuke you.

Some spirits, we are told, we have authority over, especially those within us or working in people we encounter. But others we may not have authority over such as principalities over towns and regions (unless we have been specifically told by Yah to take them on.)

He sets up and He pulls down. I have known of a few people who have been spiritually thrashed by attempting to deal with such spirits (without the Heavenly Calling to do so). Maybe this caution is encompassed in this Torah command.
