Torah Class: Day 21 - Timelines in the Time of Noah: Genesis 6:3 and the 120 Jubilees

Basis for our Studies this Year:

The Bible tells us that the “End (of the world) is declared from the “beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). Certainly, this means that the early Biblical record of human history bears End-time prophetic significance. But, it’s actually even more specific than that. The original Hebrew word translated as “beginning” in Isaiah 46:10 is תישאר (rê’shı̂yth). This is the root of Bereshith, which is the Hebrew name of the first Book of the Bible, “Genesis”. In other words, prophecies of the End of the World are found in the Book of Genesis.

The Torah is one of the five keys for unlocking End-time Prophecy… Prophecy is unlocked through the Statutes!

Genesis 6:3 and the 120 Jubilees...

What are the past Jubilees?

·      Exodus? There is argument whether the Children of Israel experienced the Exodus on a Jubilee, or entered Canaan on a Jubilee…  So, the Exodus story is difficult to use, even though we know that there was a Jubilee on one side or the other of the Exodus story…

·       Solomon’s Temple Dedication? The dates for the timing of Solomon’s Temple are in dispute…

·       Crucifixion Year? The year of the Crucifixion is also in some dispute. We can determine that Yahshua died in a Jubilee year, but most Christians believe Messiah’s Crucifixion was 3.5 years after His baptism… Others believe the Crucifixion year happened on the year of solar eclipse (because the sun was darkened when Yahshua was on the Cross), which places the Crucifixion year in 34 AD…  Still others teach that Yahshua’s death was less than 2 years from His baptism? How can we be sure of the Crucifixion year? Actually, the Crucifixion year is provable…  So, let’s work on finding it in order to get our anchor year for calculating Jubilee years.

We will use the Crucifixion Year to find the Jubilee…

We need to find the year of Messiah’s Baptism, to begin calculating… Yahshua was baptized in 27 AD

Some believe Yahshua died in 34 AD because of the darkness at the Crucifixion, and 34 AD was the year of a Solar Eclipse!

·       The New American Bible actually comes right out and says that Yahshua died at a solar eclipse. In that version Luke 23:44-45 says: “It was now about noon and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon because of an eclipse of the sun.”

·       Matthew 27:45; Mark 15:33 – tell us that the Crucifixion darkness lasted 3 hours

o   But the eclipse of 34 AD was not viewable from Jerusalem...  https://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEsearch/SEsearchmap.php?Ecl=00330319 - this solar eclipse was not viewed in Jerusalem (it was in Australia)

But the most compelling reason for not seeking a solar eclipse to confirm the right year of Messiah's Death is that there cannot be a solar eclipse on Passover.

·       Yahshua died on Passover! – Matthew 26:2; John 18:39; John 19:14

o   According to Leviticus 23, Passover is the 14th day, counting from the new moon (first visible sliver). So on Passover, the moon is on or near a full moon phase, putting the moon on the wrong side of the earth, for a solar eclipse to occur.

The sun could not have darkened because of a solar eclipse, because on Passover, the moon is full (or nearly)…  which puts the moon on the opposite side of the earth…  A solar eclipse can only occur on a conjunction moon (dark moon) phase. But Passover is the 14th day of the moon cycle…  So the darkness at the Crucifixion was supernatural.

So, since the Solar Eclipse year cannot be used, we can determine the Crucifixion year by answering: How long was Yahshua’s Ministry?

To accurately calculate the year of the Crucifixion, which gives us the Jubilee, we need to accurately prove the length of Yahshua’s ministry, starting from His baptism in 27 AD. There are five points of evidence to show that Yahshua ministered for 490 days, not 3.5 years, as follows:

First Evidence of a 490 Day Ministry – Daniel 9:24-27 Crucifixion References in the 70 Week Prophecy:

·       Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people – to finish the transgression (Isaiah 53:5)

·       And to make an end of sin – 1 Peter 2:24

·       And to make reconciliation for iniquity – Romans 5:10

·       After three-score and two weeks (shevua) shall Messiah be cut off – Psalm 37:9

·       And in the midst (middle) of the week, He shall cause the Sacrifice and the oblation to cease – 1 Corinthians 5:7; Hebrews 10:1-12

What starts the 70 Week Prophecy – Spiritually in Yahshua’s Day?

·       The 70 Weeks was fulfilled literally and figuratively in the past:

o   Literally from the commandment to restore and building Jerusalem it was 490 years (starting in 457 BC).

o   Figuratively, from the spiritual command to restore and build spiritual Jerusalem (Jerusalem, spiritually, represents the saved people of Yahweh – Isaiah 40:2)

§  Spiritually building Jerusalem – Psalm 147:2 – building up (encouraging in Torah Truth, calling to repentance) the Body of Messiah (which every saved person is a part of)

·       Spiritually, the call to restore and build Jerusalem, which starts the 70 weeks of Yahshua’s Ministry – including the timing of the Crucifixion – begins with the Elijah Message – the Call to repentance.

o   Yahshua’s Baptism starts the 70 week clock…  27 AD…

o   The clock starts for Yahshua to be the Passover Lamb in 27 AD, with John’s prophetic pronouncement “ Behold the Lamb of God…”

o   The Call to restore and Build Jerusalem starts the 70 week timeline (490 Days)

§  Matthew 3:2; John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:7…
