Basis for our Studies this Year:
The Bible tells us that the “End (of the world) is declared from the “beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). Certainly, this means that the early Biblical record of human history bears End-time prophetic significance. But, it’s actually even more specific than that. The original Hebrew word translated as “beginning” in Isaiah 46:10 is תישאר (rê’shı̂yth). This is the root of Bereshith, which is the Hebrew name of the first Book of the Bible, “Genesis”. In other words, prophecies of the End of the World are found in the Book of Genesis.
The Torah is one of the five keys for unlocking End-time Prophecy… Prophecy is unlocked through the Statutes!
The Flood - Shadows of the Final Day of Atonement
The Day the Door of the Ark was Shut – is a Prophetic Shadow of the shutting of the Door (Probation Closes) – Final Day of Atonement
We must begin our study with looking at the Day of Atonement, in order to trace the deeper meaning and connection in the Flood narrative...
· Numbers 29:7-11 “And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation (miqraw = “gather, convocate… rehearsal”); and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein…”
o Afflict = ‛ânâh “… to depress literally or figuratively... abase self, afflict (-ion, self)… chasten self, deal hardly with… humble (self)… submit self, weaken, X in any wise.”
o Isaiah 58:3 “Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and Thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and Thou takest no knowledge?” – one form of Biblical “affliction of the soul” is to fast. – Righteous fasting yields the outcome of Yahweh’s Attention and Intervention.
o Psalm 35:13 – righteous fasting is humbling the soul with fasting and prayer.
o Ezra 8:21 – afflicting ourselves involves fasting and seeking Yahweh:
§ Ezra 8:21 “Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of Him a right way for us, and for our little ones…”
o Joel 2:12-13 “Therefore also now, saith Yahweh, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto Yahweh your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him (to take pity upon, bring consolation to) of the evil (adversity, affliction).”
o Joel 2:15 “Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly.”
Day of Atonement in Hebrew is Yom Kippur - Yom means “day,” and Kippur is from the Hebrew word kaphar, meaning “to cover,” which is translated as Atonement. Taken together, they literally mean “Day Atonement.” The concept of the Old Covenant usage of atonement is simply that of covering. That is, their sins were covered by this offering.
· Leviticus 16:29-31 “And it
shall be a Statute forever unto you: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of
the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and shall do no manner of work, the
home-born, or the stranger that sojourneth among you. For on this Day
shall Atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins shall ye be
clean before Yahweh. It is a Sabbath of solemn rest unto you, and ye shall
afflict your souls; it is a Statute forever.”
· Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no man
therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day
(annual Sabbath), or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath
(7th Day Sabbath) days: Which ARE a
shadow of things to come...”
o
Leviticus 23 lists all the Feasts:
§
Seventh-day Sabbath – Millennium – final Jubilee
§
Passover – the Worthy Lamb that was Slain
§
Unleavened Bread – Cleansing from Sin,
Death to Sin (Yahshua took our sins to the Grave)
§
First Fruits – Yahshua was First Fruits
(Resurrection) – and the 144,000 are also called the First Fruits.

at Mount Sinai) and the Spirit of Yah.
§
Feast of Trumpets – The Two Witnesses (two
silver trumpets), the final call of Salvation, which gives 10 days left to get

§
Day of Atonement – Day the Door to Life

1000 years)…
§
The Feast of Tabernacles – Tabernacling with

The high priest
represents Messiah
On the Day of Atonement, the High Priest entered the Most
Holy (beyond the veil) and performed ceremonies before the Ark of the
Covenant (sprinkling the Atonement blood, etc)… representing being
directly before the Throne of Yahweh,
with no veil between…
Normally, the high priest dressed in a very kingly way…
·
White linen robe – righteousness of
Christ
·
Blue over robe – Torah obedience,
o
Fringe – is the kanaph, the tzit-tzits, the
Place of Covering and Blessing (Ruth and Boaz) – “the Son of Righteousness will
arise with healing in His Wings”…
o
Bells – represent the clear Word of Yahweh (the
Voice speaking His Word).
o
Pomegranates – representing the Fruit of the
Spirit in the 613 Statutes (Spirit leads into Truth)
· The Ephod had blue (Torah), purple
(Royalty – family of Yahweh), scarlet (Blood of the Lamb) and gold (pure faith and
character)
· The Breastplate – called the memorial and
the Breastplate of Judgment… The high
priest wore the breastplate as a remembrance of the people (Exodus 28:29), bearing
the Judgment of the Children of Israel upon his own heart (Exodus 28:30;
Leviticus 8:8)
The high priest removed all intercessory clothing items from
his attire on the Day of Atonement! Why? Because there is no more intercession!
Intercession ends on the Final Day of Atonement. We face Yahweh, and we're either all inside (Salvation), or forever outside on that Day.
