Thoughts and Commentary on Today's Reading
Dear Reader, this blog is written by my 17-year old daughter, Katrina. Noting that I needed to write all the blogs for the 45 days we will be out of the country (and without Internet for much of it), she has lovingly offered to help out - for which I am blessed and grateful - and by which I pray you also will be blessed. The following is her blog commentary for today. - Shauna Manfredine

Salutations and greetings to all, welcome to today’s blog!
Today might be just slightly different than what you may be used to because,
this blog was written by a different author! So, without further ado, let’s
begin!
Today, I wanted to talk about Psalms 115. In this passage,
to me, it felt like a call to the mission field. These people are out there,
lost, and hidden in darkness. And God wants us to let Him use us to save their
souls.
They are chained to their “gods” and their souls are being
consumed. They need help. They need the true God. But who will show Him to
them?
God has given us a very special gift, beyond special; I
don’t think there is a word known to man that can describe this gift. The gift
is His Blood. He has given this to save us! But not just us, every human on
earth has an invitation written for them, allowing them to enter Heaven and
wash away their sins in His Blood. But who will give them the invitation?
This passage is also encouragement to us as Christians. We
are to stay strong in God and not follow after the ways of the heathen, for
their ways will plunge you into darkness.
Psalms
115:4-7
But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths,
but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but
cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell. They have hands, but cannot
feel, feet, but
cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their
throat
We are to Trust in Yahweh, and for this, we
will be richly blessed.
I hope you found this to be a blessing to you! Thank
you for reading, may your day be blessed!
