Basis for our Studies:
The Bible tells us that the “End (of the world) is declared from the “beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). Certainly, this means that the early Biblical record of human history bears End-time prophetic significance. But, it’s actually even more specific than that. The original Hebrew word translated as “beginning” in Isaiah 46:10 is תישאר (rê’shı̂yth). This is the root of Bereshith, which is the Hebrew name of the first Book of the Bible, “Genesis”. In other words, prophecies of the End of the World are found in the Book of Genesis.
The Torah is one of the five keys for unlocking End-time Prophecy… Prophecy is unlocked through the Statutes!
The Lessons and Tests of Israel in the Wilderness are Prophetic - for the Last Days
1 Corinthians 10:1-6 – The experiences, lessons and tests of Israel in the Wilderness are “examples” for us.
1 Corinthians 10:11 - “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.”
What is being worked on in each Test/Lesson is ONE THING: Shema – Love Yahweh with all your heart, soul and might
· Deuteronomy 6:4-9 “Hear (shema: to hear intelligently, to pay attention, obey, be a witness and proclaim / live it for others to see), O Israel (those that bear the 42 letter Name): Yahweh our God is one (primary, solely God, supreme, first) Yahweh: And thou shalt love Yahweh thy God with all thine heart (emotions, innermost being), and with all thy soul (breath, will – choices), and with all thy might (strength). And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house (that’s our down-time of resting, at the end of day), and when thou walkest by the way (in the commute, travel time), and when thou liest down (when you first lay down and before you fall asleep at night), and when thou risest up (when you first wake up in the morning). And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes (we are sealed in the forehead and hand… the Shema is the Sealing). And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”
Campsite #7: Wilderness of Sin (means "thorns, thistles, weeds, briars"... it is the name of the moon god which was worshipped in this region) - Numbers 33:11
Seven in Hebrew is the Zayin, and it signifies the
completion and perfection of Yahweh. Creation was seven days…
Seven appears in human conception:
·
From conception to birth is 40 weeks, or 280
days
·
Eggs often hatch in multiples of 7 (potato bug –
7 days; canary – 14 days, chicken – 21 days… etc.)
Exodus 16:1-3 – Israel complained about the lack of food –
to such a degree that they actually said they’d rather die by Yahweh’s Hand
(Judgment Hand against sin) in Egypt – in order to keep its flesh pots… Than to
be delivered from Darkness and taken Home.
Sin is the name of the moon-god worshipped by the Edomites
and Midianites and pagan nations in this region…
The Midianites descend from Midian, who was the son of
Abraham, through Keturah (his wife after Sarah died)… (Genesis 25 mentions them)… The Midianites were the merchants who bought
Joseph (Genesis 37 & 39)… These people worshipped Yahweh amongst their many
gods – highest of which (in their thinking) is the moon god (Sin)… They are polytheistic… The sacred is blended with the profane.
In the story of Moses, he marries a woman (Zipporah) who is
the daughter of Jethro, a priest (Yahweh-priest) of Midian… So, in this people we have Yahweh-fearing
believers! They are not of Israel (literally), yet some among them faithfully
serve Yahweh… And Moses marries her,
showing that he understands she is of spiritual Israel. Moses in this marriage
demonstrates that Israel is bigger than DNA.
In Old Testament times, Nabonidus
(555-539 B.C.E.), the last king of Babylon, built Tayma, Arabia as a center of
Moon-god worship. (Nabonidus is pictured
on the Babylonian carving on the following page. Notice the crescent moon shape
on his staff and in front of him) …South
Arabia's stellar religion has always been dominated by the Moon-god in various
variations.
Many scholars have also noticed that the Moon-god's name
"Sin" is a part of such Arabic words as "Sinai,"
the "wilderness of Sin." When the popularity of the Moon-god
waned elsewhere, the Arabs remained true to their conviction that the Moon-god
was the greatest of all gods. While they worshipped 360 gods at the Kabah in Mecca, the Moon-god was the chief deity. Mecca was in fact built as a shrine for “Allah - the Moon-god.”

·
Deuteronomy 4:19 – We are not to worship the
heavenly bodies
·
Deuteronomy 17:2-5 – Worship of heavenly
bodies is an
abomination that is punishable by death.
·
New Moon – 1st day
·
8th day – 1st quarter
·
15th day – full moon
·
22nd day – last quarter
·
29th day – conjunction?
Moon Phases do not determine the Seventh – Day Sabbath. Consider the following Biblical Evidence:
·
The Creation Week - The
moon was created on the 4th day, so you cannot get a Seventh-day
Sabbath, counting from the moon… Since
Sabbath memorializes Creation, the Creation week dictates when the Sabbath is.
·
It’s Called the 7th Day Sabbath - There
is not consistently 7 days in the moon cycle…
The Sabbath is one name for the Day…
It’s also called The Seventh-day…
The time gap between the new moon and the 8th day phase can
be 9 days, not seven…
·
The Pentecost Count –
Pentecost is 7 complete Sabbaths (from First Fruits) and 50 Days… This only works with a consistent seventh-day
Sabbath - Leviticus 23:15-16
The Lust of the Flesh Test was at the Wilderness of Sin… Exodus
16:1-36
·
Apostasy starts with complaining.
·
Yahweh uses testing to reveal what’s really in
our hearts
The Pattern of Apostasy
1.
Peace and prosperity – Yahweh’s Gifts to His
people
2.
Apathy and compromise – The people Gifts for
granted and forget to thank Him.
3.
Rebellion (humanism) and paganism – People
trade God for other sources of “strength”
4.
Famine, war, plagues, and slavery – People are
shown in these signs the inadequacy of their own arm of flesh… Yahweh is disciplining them to bring them to
repent and worship Him.
5.
Confess and repent – the people recognize
their need for Yahweh
6.
Yahweh hears, saves and restores – He blesses
His people with peace as long as they follow Him and don’t turn to other gods…
James 1:2-4 – we are to take a testing period with patience and
cheerfulness… For Yahweh brings good out
of all things…
Hebrews 13:5 – “I will never leave you nor forsake you…”
Psalm 37:25 – “I have been young and am now old, yet have I not
seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread…”
Psalm 34:8 – Taste and see – what? That Yahweh is Good! Once you know His Goodness, don’t forget it.
