Basis for our Studies:
The Bible tells us that the “End (of the world) is declared from the “beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). Certainly, this means that the early Biblical record of human history bears End-time prophetic significance. But, it’s actually even more specific than that. The original Hebrew word translated as “beginning” in Isaiah 46:10 is תישאר (rê’shı̂yth). This is the root of Bereshith, which is the Hebrew name of the first Book of the Bible, “Genesis”. In other words, prophecies of the End of the World are found in the Book of Genesis.
The Torah is one of the five keys for unlocking End-time Prophecy… Prophecy is unlocked through the Statutes!
The Lessons and Tests of Israel in the Wilderness are Prophetic - for the Last Days
1 Corinthians 10:1-6 – The experiences, lessons and tests of Israel in the Wilderness are “examples” for us.
1 Corinthians 10:11 - “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.”
What is being worked on in each Test/Lesson is ONE THING: Shema – Love Yahweh with all your heart, soul and might
· Deuteronomy 6:4-9 “Hear (shema: to hear intelligently, to pay attention, obey, be a witness and proclaim / live it for others to see), O Israel (those that bear the 42 letter Name): Yahweh our God is one (primary, solely God, supreme, first) Yahweh: And thou shalt love Yahweh thy God with all thine heart (emotions, innermost being), and with all thy soul (breath, will – choices), and with all thy might (strength). And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house (that’s our down-time of resting, at the end of day), and when thou walkest by the way (in the commute, travel time), and when thou liest down (when you first lay down and before you fall asleep at night), and when thou risest up (when you first wake up in the morning). And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes (we are sealed in the forehead and hand… the Shema is the Sealing). And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”
Campsite #9: Alush (means "leavening" and "knead as bread") - Numbers 33:13
1 Corinthians 5:6 – “Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?”
The Biblical Symbol of Leaven:
· Leaven represents sin – and unleavening during
the Feast of Unleavened Bread is about getting the spiritual leaven of sin out
of our lives and homes.
· 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 - Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a
new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for
us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the
leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of
sincerity and truth.
· Leaven also represents Righteousness – and the
leavened barley loaves presented at Shavuot (Pentecost) represent the
righteous leaven.
· Matthew 13:33 – “Another parable spake He unto them; The kingdom of Heaven is like unto
leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole
was leavened.”
At Alush we see both
kinds of leaven – both sinful and righteous
Hebrews 2:11
– the “kneading process” puts the leaven throughout (the dough is us)… We should be unified in the Kingdom of Yahweh
through the kneading. Like the people of Israel at Alush, we too are blessed of
Yahweh. They had manna fall that very morning of the trouble at this camp… But they had no eyes to see, and they did not
appreciate Yahweh’s Provision and blessing – it was, in their eyes, not enough.
Israel
doesn’t have faith – which means they aren’t spending time in Yahweh’s Word –
Romans 10:17 – “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Yah.”
At Alush,
Israel could see Mount Sinai in the distance – the holy Mountain of Yahweh.
Moses had met with Yahweh at the base of the Mountain (burning bush) and had
been told to bring Israel there to meet with Yahweh.
In their
sight is the Promise of Yahweh’s Presence…
And all they can think of are the giants around them…
· Numbers 13:33
- And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the
giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their
sight.
· Exodus
17:8-16 – “the Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim…”
o “The Hebrew "nefilim bene 'Anaḳ" (Num. xiii. 33) are called
"jabbarun" in
(JewishEncyclopedia.com)
It was at Alush that Israel’s
victory or defeat by the giants was being determined. Israel’s defense is
Yahweh!!!!
· If they spend their prep time
pressing in, getting completely cleansed of all sin (praying for any unknown
sins to be revealed – confessing them, claiming the Blood)… The Presence of
Yahweh would have been in His people at a sizzling magnitude which would have
knocked the giants to nothing.

Take this to heart – in the quiet
before the attack of the giants, we determine the outcome.
· If they spend their prep time
fussing about and complaining about how Yahweh’s blessings aren’t enough… the attack of the giants will leave Israel
facing them alone - without Yahweh.
This is a spiritual parallel to the people of Yahweh in the Last Days... With the Beast, the False Prophet, the Dragon, the Image to the Beast all represented as "giants", like Israel of old, we are now in Alush, the prep time before the giants attack us... How we spend this prep time determines the outcome of that attack... Are we complaining and provoking Yahweh with suggesting that His many blessings in our lives are not enough? Are we pressing in with thankfulness for what He has bestowed, while growing in faith through His Word? May it be the latter.
