Basis for our Studies:
The Bible tells us that the “End (of the world) is declared from the “beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). Certainly, this means that the early Biblical record of human history bears End-time prophetic significance. But, it’s actually even more specific than that. The original Hebrew word translated as “beginning” in Isaiah 46:10 is תישאר (rê’shı̂yth). This is the root of Bereshith, which is the Hebrew name of the first Book of the Bible, “Genesis”. In other words, prophecies of the End of the World are found in the Book of Genesis.
The Torah is one of the five keys for unlocking End-time Prophecy… Prophecy is unlocked through the Statutes!
The Lessons and Tests of Israel in the Wilderness are Prophetic - for the Last Days
1 Corinthians 10:1-6 – The experiences, lessons and tests of Israel in the Wilderness are “examples” for us.
1 Corinthians 10:11 - “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.”
What is being worked on in each Test/Lesson is ONE THING: Shema – Love Yahweh with all your heart, soul and might
· Deuteronomy 6:4-9 “Hear (shema: to hear intelligently, to pay attention, obey, be a witness and proclaim / live it for others to see), O Israel (those that bear the 42 letter Name): Yahweh our God is one (primary, solely God, supreme, first) Yahweh: And thou shalt love Yahweh thy God with all thine heart (emotions, innermost being), and with all thy soul (breath, will – choices), and with all thy might (strength). And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house (that’s our down-time of resting, at the end of day), and when thou walkest by the way (in the commute, travel time), and when thou liest down (when you first lay down and before you fall asleep at night), and when thou risest up (when you first wake up in the morning). And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes (we are sealed in the forehead and hand… the Shema is the Sealing). And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”
Campsite #13: Chazeroth (means "a yard, enclosed with a fence"... "courtyard"... and "place of settlement" implying judgment) - Numbers 33:17
· in this case, the fence, which should protect and safeguard what is within, dividing out evil, is the authority – the leadership – which Yahweh as appointed. Rebellion against that authority is not acceptable to Yahweh… Division and apostasy result when we rebel against Yahweh-given authority.
· Romans 13:1-7 – We (as Yahweh’s people) are to be respectful of authority figures. We don’t obey commands that go against Torah, but we don’t rebel against the authority either.
· 1 Peter 2:13-14 – We are to be in submission to authority whether or not the authority figure is righteous. Submission is a humble and respectful attitude. But not obedience against Yahweh.
· At Chatzeroth, Moses’ sister, Miriam became jealous of his leadership along with his brother, Aaron – Numbers 12:1-2
o “And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, Hath Yahweh indeed spoken only by Moses? Hath He not spoken also by us? And Yahweh heard it.”
o Why do Miriam and Aaron speak against (criticize) Moses? Because they believe he has done something wrong!!! People, to this day, feel that any speech about a leader is justified, if the leader doesn’t measure up in their eyes.
o Moses had been put, by Yahweh, into the highest position of human leadership… with Aaron (presumably also Miriam under him)
§ Exodus 4:16 “And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.”
o Yahweh dealt with Miriam by giving her leprosy:
§ Sin is very akin to leprosy… When a person has leprosy they lose feeling in their limbs, fingers, extremities… They lose the ability to feel pain…
Pain is protective… you feel pain when you touch a hot stove… Pain tells you to remove your hand. Failure to do so results in catastrophic damage.
Similarly, the conscience is pain to the soul… When we are in danger of falling into sin, the conscience is awakened… This is the protection to help us not fall into sin.
§ When the conscience becomes so seared that we no longer have that inner sense of right and wrong, we are spiritually leprous!
o Yahweh considers Miriam and Aaron’s offense in criticizing and working to replace the leadership a father spitting in his daughter’s face level of rebuke – shame… 7 days Miriam is Chatzeroth – barred from, divided out from, the camp.
o When Miriam returns, she is repentant and she is fully reinstated…
